The Tshirt Mill Returns Policy

We take pride in the quality of every print and garment that leaves our factory. While we have strict quality controls in place, sometimes things can go wrong. If you receive an item that is faulty, damaged, or incorrectly printed, we are happy to reprint it. Please review the details below before submitting a request.

What Can Be Returned

Only items that are faulty, damaged, or have an incorrect or faulty print may be returned. Once an order has been placed through our online system, it is automatically added to production and cannot be edited or cancelled.

We do not accept returns for change of mind, incorrect sizing, colour variation between screen and print, or any design issues after approval.

No returns are accepted after 14 days of receiving your order. Items showing noticeable wear, makeup stains, perfume or deodorant marks, or that have been washed cannot be returned.

Returns must comply with our User Agreement.

We do not refund or exchange for:
• Change of mind or wrong product ordered
• Errors in approved proofs
• Low quality, pixelated, or non-print-ready artwork
• Courier or postal delays once dispatched correctly
• Supplier or stock delays outside our control
• Incorrect garment size selection

Sizing measurements provided online allow for a tolerance of plus or minus 2.5cm. Print placement and sizing may also vary up to plus or minus 2cm. Variations within this range are not considered faults.

All returns must be authorised by email with photos of the issue and the garment label visible if there is a size concern. We may request the item be returned to our factory for inspection before approval of a reprint or refund.

DTF Printing Disclaimer

Our DTF printers use CMYKW inks and cannot reproduce fluorescent, neon, metallic, glitter, glow, chrome, or holographic effects.

Because screens display colour with light and printers use ink, printed designs may look slightly different from what you see on your device. This includes small variations in brightness, contrast, and saturation.

Effects that rely on light or transparency, such as glow effects, fades, shadows, or semi-transparent layers, often appear more solid once printed. For example,
• A soft glow that looks airy on screen may print as a faint halo or light outline.
• Transparent areas that blend smoothly on screen may appear more opaque or darker when printed, especially over coloured fabrics.
• Drop shadows or feathered edges may lose their fade and appear more defined.

For the best results, we recommend using bold, solid colours and avoiding very light gradients, soft glows, or layered transparency. If you are unsure how your artwork will print, our team can review it and provide feedback before production.

We do not colour match to screens, RGB codes, or other print methods. A small variation of up to 5 percent in colour or print size is considered normal in the printing process.

Proof Approval and Artwork Responsibility

Please check your artwork carefully before placing your order. We do not proof or correct customer artwork.

Customers are fully responsible for the spelling, grammar, punctuation, and design layout in their artwork.

Low-resolution or pixelated artwork may result in a lower-quality print. We are not responsible for results caused by non-print-ready files.

The following actions are considered authority to proceed with production:
• Verbal approval in person or by phone
• Payment of invoice
• Email or written approval

Once approved, no changes to artwork, colour, or garment type can be made.

Production and Delivery

Only express production timeframes are guaranteed (pending stock). These orders are shipped within the timeframe paid for.

We aim to dispatch for standard production within 10-14 business days, this is a guide only. 

We do not refund for delays on standard production. If your order is time-sensitive, please select an express production option.

We are not responsible for courier or postal delays after the order has been dispatched correctly and on time.

If you have a specific event date, please contact us in advance so we can do our best to help meet your deadline.

BYO and Supplied Garments

BYO or supplied garments are printed entirely at the customer’s risk.

If a print or production issue occurs on a BYO garment, we cannot replace or reimburse the item.

If supplying garments, we recommend sending extra units for testing or choosing items from our available range that can be replaced if necessary.

If supplying highly expensive apparel, such as Lululemon or other premium brands, we strongly recommend purchasing a production sample before proceeding with a larger order. Please contact our team for guidance before sending your garments.

Our factory staff will not accept BYO stock into the facotry, unless you have a valid order number. You will be required to sign our BYO waiver when dropping your stock in. 

Washing and Care

To prolong the life of your print, please follow these washing instructions:

  • Cold water
  • Gentle cycle
  • Wash inside out
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Dry in shade

Garments will not shrink if washed according to the care label. If you believe the garment was washed correctly and there is still an issue, please contact us following our return procedure.

Return Process

All return and exchange requests must be made via email to sales@thetshirtmill.com.au, including:

  • Your order number
  • Date of purchase
  • Description of the issue
  • Photo showing the fault or damage

We will assess your request and confirm if it meets our return policy. If approved, we will organise a reprint, replacement, or refund.

If approved, reprints are typically dispatched within three business days subject to stock availability.

Customer Responsibility and Limitations

We are not responsible for:

  • Spelling or design errors made by the customer
  • Mistakes approved in proofs or payment confirmation
  • Print colour variations within 5 percent
  • Garment colour differences between batches or screen display
  • Garment shrinkage from washing or heat exposure
  • Courier delivery delays after dispatch

Due to the nature of print production, colours, size, position, and scale are indicative only and may vary slightly.

All returns must comply with The Tshirt Mill User Agreement.
